about

Setting the tone early for a busy summer season, Silk Digital's 13th release comes from British newcomer Jason Bradberry. In spite of its June release, the wistful mood of "Autumn" immediately becomes apparent in Bradberry's Original mix, with a sweeping orchestral solo at the onset, soon met by delicate arpeggios and a driving rhythm section. Capturing the essence of Autumn with her forlorn, yet sublime vocals, Emily Haughton brings the track to a break-taking climax. Following the break, only echoes of her beautiful voice remain, reminiscent of the Chicane classic "Lost You Somewhere."

On the heels of several top-charting tracks, including the widely acclaimed "30,000 Years", Silk veteran Invisible Sounds provides a more traditionally "housy" take on the original, with its vintage shaker groove & clap rhythm. The more stripped-down feel of this one has the effect of giving the vocal much more breathing room, no more evident than in the gorgeous break. Finally, "Shoreliners" has graced us with a vintage remix, in which all of the great talents of alter-ego Mango are on display. Original percussive samples and arpeggios have been added to enhance the groove and lead melody, respectively; in the break, the subtle chords of the original are given much more resonance, leaving us with an emotionally-charged (albeit premature) taste of Autumn.
